You may consider buying our grade "B" door over our grade "A" door if you are doing a high end restoration. Here is the reasoning; due to the design of the 69-70 door, silt is trapped in all of the door corners, these tight recesses always have silt collected in them and when you add moisture you get corrosion. Our grade "A" doors do not have noticeable blisters but since there is no paint or sound deadener in the depths of the corners we know there is some amount of corrosion taking place...

These weigh .50 pounds each, exactly as the originals do. Just like the originals, these are very prone to scratches and dents, even letting your seat belt fall will mark them up. These are the same left to right, convertible or coupe. These appear to be made from the same thickness of aluminum as original and weigh .44 pounds as opposed to .50 for the originals but the aluminum used is not nearly the quality of originals. You can literally mutilate these parts with your fingers as you would an aluminum can. We recommend the premium quality sills. Ford never made these in stainless but what a great upgrade! The advantage we see with these is that they do not dent or scratch as easy when you release your seat belt. They also can be polished easily (unlike anodized aluminum). These weigh 1.5 pounds each, triple of what the originals weigh. Very nice reproduction, silver zinc finish like original. Correct texture and even an original type date stamped on the head. Comes complete with striker plate, shim, and screws. The only difference between the 67 Cougar and the 68 - 70 is that the 67 came with the 8-66 date stamp, the rest came with the 11-67 date stamp. This shim, also referenced to as washers, goes in the clutch portion of the drive gearbox to properly adjust the friction. Three shims (plus a hand crank) were originally supplied with sunroof cars.
