This air cleaner was used on the 1967 GT Cougar only. It was possible to order a 390 GT motor for your Cougar without ordering the 390 GT package. Cougars equipped with the 390 6.5 Litre engine that did not come with the GT package would have used the air cleaner with a long tapered snorkel and painted lid. Unique to the 1973 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with 351 engines. This is only the upper section of a two piece ducting that connects to the air cleaner snorkel with a flex tube.
