This unique gasket is only slightly different from the driver side. The angle at the front is just a little different and notice it does not have a hole drilled for the remote mirror cable used on the driver side. This three part clip was used on all four versions of the 1969 - 1970 remote mirror to keep the door glass from interfering with the cable.

Used, with scratches and pits, suitable for every day driver or restoring.

Good grade "A" used nut with minimal scratches from removal process. The originals have deeper grooves and have a better luster on the chrome than the reproductions. This is a one year only design. Don't forget to check out our special tool used to remove and install this nut.

This mirror nut for the 70 - 73 Cougar or Mustang is made from stainless steel, as compared to the other reproduction we offer which is made from die cast metal. A few benefits of the stainless steel nut is that the finish on it will not tarnish over time, and that it cannot be cross threaded.

It will require drilling out the old one and epoxy gluing in another or removing the complete controller from another 1970's like mirror. Chrome is dull and often will have light pitting. Fine scratches but great for the guy who wants original. The Reproduction does not have the II-DMI-6 lettering at the bottom like this original. You will have to carefully peel (roll back) the aluminum backing that is glued in place before gluing it in your mirror. If you use needle nose pliers and take your time it usually works fine. Your OEM mirror controller is made of a very soft metal so one can often install these as "self tapping".1967 and 1968 are different, see comparison picture.
