This 1969-70 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang shield, was installed at the factory to protect the heater motor from being damaged when the Big Block 390 / 428CJ's were being dropped in. As noted in the factory assembly manuals we sell, they were supposed to be removed once the motor was in place.
