CRL brand glass bedding compound for installing the 1967-68 glass windshields and 1967-73 back glass that use rubber gaskets. This aluminum backed, tar sound deadener with adhesive is approximately 1/16 of an inch thick and works well behind door panels, at the firewall and under the headliner as a sound, heat and vapor barrier. One sheet required per door. Cut to fit, then remove paper backing to reveal adhesive, and stick in place. Backer boards are not perfect but very serviceable with only a couple broken clip cutouts, NO cracked pillows, The passenger side has one very small knick in the vinyl and has white overspray in places which can be removed with "Goo-Off". We suggest not worrying about removing the overspray and give the panels a fresh look by applying 2 coats of SEM Landau black flexible coating. Grade A door cup (escutcheon) used on both the Xr7 and Decor / Deluxe interiors with moulded door panels. Casting numbers as seen on the back can read D1WB-6522635-A or D3WB-6522635-A. The last 3 digits will read something like -AWA, AWD or similar which denotes the different colors. These resemble Mustang but are in fact unique to the Cougar. The originals were backed with a "fiber-board" that was prone to failure in the clip areas and almost always curl at the edges with age. These new panels are backed in sturdy, moisture proof ABS plastic and covered with the correct textured vinyl. Secondly this much improved new version does not crack in the arm rest area like the originals. You will have to reuse your original decorative trim, emblems...
