Under dash mounted rear speaker controller. This is a used and tested unit that functions flawlessly. Typically this style of fader switch was used with the stereo radios with either AM/FM or the various 8-Track stereos, with added rear speakers. Included is the blue plug and pigtail that goes to the speakers.This harness is marked D2AA-18972-AB.

Hard to find little detail item that is often times missing. Correct for Ford Mustang as well. According to the 1968 Cougar Electrical Assembly Manual on page #57, the cowl ground strap is called the "Strap Radio Receiver Hood Bonding." Ford part # C5AA-18870-A

Good used detail item that is often missing and is also correct for Mustang. Copper grounding strap. We have noticed that 1971 cars typically have a hex head screw, and the 1972-73 straps were attached with a hex head screw.

These were installed behind the kick panels on 1967-68 Cougars & the 1968-69 Fairlane, Torino, Cobra and Cyclone equipped with a factory AM-FM or AM-8 track radio. Don't be fooled by knobs with similar part numbers, they have longer shafts and will not work as well on your Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang application.Ford part # D1ZZ-18830-A, and Ford casting # D1ZA-18A932-AA.*TRIVIA* Did you know that Ford called the inner (balance / tone) radio knobs "discs?"

This is one of the easier knobs to find in that it does not break easily and can be found on many 1967 FoMoCo products. Not used on Cougars with a center console and little to no differences can be seen between the different examples. One explanation for having multiple casting numbers for the same part is that Ford would use multiple suppliers for a single part. Rare radio knob used only on the 1967 XR7 and standard Cougar console. This knob set differs from the set used later in 1967 only in that the outer knob has a lower profile head. Keep in mind we have reproduction knobs that will work in place of these.

This set of reproduction used knobs is for 1968 Cougar / Mustangs without factory console. The exception to the rule would be the XR7G. Cougars equipped with a console need the longer version of this knob to clear the padded console face. If you happen to have a 1969 or newer radio then the radio has longer shafts and these knobs may in fact work with a console. The early Cougars had a lower profile head on the outer knob. It is assumed they beefed up the design in early in the year because the knobs were easily broken. These delicate plastic knobs are very hard to find in this condition. Only the utmost purist would care to obtain a trivial detail part such as these to make their car correct.
