This restored three spoke, rim blow steering wheel was used on all Cougars 1970-73 except the Cougars equipped with standard interior or on rare occasion the 1973 Cougars that came with the rare 2 spoke leather wrapped wheel. The Cougars equipped with standard interior used a two spoke wheel with the horn button located in the center pad. If you choose to send in a core for exchange it will need to be a clean one as we will not restore steering wheels that have huge cracks, severe UV damage or are falling apart. Badly damaged wheels can be restored, we just choose not to. Based on our experience, the less filler used in the restoration process, the less likely you are to have problems down the road. Included in the restoration service is the installed horn switch, but the unrestored center pad, wood-grain and emblem shown here (for display purposes) are not included. We can sell the other parts individually.
*NOTE* This item carries a $100 core charge which you will get back once we get your wheel. If you are sending your wheel in for restoration please scribe your name in the exposed metal area under the steering wheel pad. It can take as long as three months before you get your wheel back. The wheel we are offering here is a black wheel. If you want a color other than black you will have to call us for availability or supply your core in advance. Do not send us your center pad.
