    Description

This conversion will replace the old, tired, vacuum system that likes to leak and wear out. There are few differences between the 1969 and 1970 conversion kit.

This kit consists of an electric actuator assembly (new Mazda Miata motor) with a plug and play wiring loom for easy installation. Simply remove all existing vacuum components and replace with this kit to have headlight covers that work under any conditions with the car running or not. These new motors are smoother and more reliable than previous versions that utilized the Ford Probe motors and are fully adjustable. There is a provision for the Halo light conversions if your car is so equipped. Do not be fooled by the multiple knock offs out there. This is a quality set-up with plugs that integrate with your original wiring, powder coated bracketry (not reconditioned motors) and the WCCC service you have grown accustomed to. Keep in mind we can offer in store credit for your quality used take off vacuum parts. They are not highly valuable but others who want to keep their car very original will be grateful and WCCC can issue a call tag for shipping via UPS.

    Detailed instruction sheet included.

If you have a high performance engine with low vacuum, this is a must have kit for your Cougar.

Actuator Heim joints are fully adjustable to keep your grille and headlight lids nice and straight without slack. Another advantage of this electric system is that it doesn't put constant pressure on your grille like the original vacuum system does.

These kits have a 3 year full warranty against manufacturer defects.

As a Flight Chief for the USAF (Civil Servant) and managing 5 avionics shop I can attest to the quality of this product as being that of aircraft equivalent. It is currently installed on my 70 Cougar and operates better than the original vacuum system. Installation skill level I would rate at the novelist level (take the time to watch the WCCC video before installing) I really enjoy how it cleaned up my engine compartment after all the vacuum hardware was removed. Yes, a little pricey but end result well worth it!

    Cons:
I ordered this knowing I might have to make some changes to work on my Ranchero. I used the factory vacuum canister brackets to mount the electric motor. Worked grear. I did find out to not turn the door shaft. If you flip it it puts athe motor in a bind.
I then had to make one other change to make it work.
The adjustable motor arm that comes with the kit is to short for the Ranchero. It is 4 and 11/16 inch long. I made one that is 6 1/2 inch long and it works perfect.
I am very pleased with this kit and can't believe how good it works.

This kit was the answer to years of vacuum trouble with my headlight doors. The kit was of high quality and the instructions were easy to follow. It was ridiculously easy to install and worked flawlessly the first time I turned the lights on. This conversion kit is a must have to upgrade your tired vacuum system.

The conversion kit worked great. Easy to install. The only item that would have completed the package is the body plug for the firewall where the vacuum hoses went through. I would strongly suggest you had the body plug to the kit to make it everything you need.

The parts are well made and fit into the existing brackets perfectly. No more tracing vacuum leaks and watching the headlight covers slowly raise over time. Plus the electronic actuator seems to make the covers go up and down faster without causing them to slam. great for flashing lights at someone during the day.
If you do purchase this, please watch the WCCC video on it. The directions were confusing to me.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
