This C9WY-13A366-AR sequential flasher kit is a solid state electronic replacement for the sequential flasher used in the 1969 - 1973 Cougars, 1969 - 1971 T-Birds and 1969 - 1970 Shelby Mustangs. It does not include the 552 under dash flasher can (located beside radio) but it does include the schematic and a troubleshooting guide (which can also be viewed online here). If your taillights do not light up bright, in order (from the inside to the outside) and fast, this is usually the culprit. If all works well but the unit just flashes too fast then you need a new flasher. Keep in mind only one of these units is needed per car as it controls both the left and right taillight.

This is a direct fit replacement, just pop open your black plastic box located in the driver side trunk drop off and plug it in. Your January 1970 and newer Cougar will have external brake light relays taped to the outside of your box, this unit will internalize them with built in solid state units that are silent and much more reliable.

This unit is located in the trunk behind the driver side wheel house and requires no modification to the original wiring. The two used sequential units shown represent the two versions this new unit was designed to replace. The unit without the external brake light relays was used in 1969 and early 1970. The unit with the four bulky external brake light relays was used from January 1970 to 1973. Note both versions use the same plug configuration.  We highly recommend you change the flasher under the dash with our solid state unit.

If you plan on using the new Plasma LED lights, you need the updated sequential unit, found right here

Dear WCCC, I would like to thank you for having such a great product. It was incredibly simple to install. It has been years and years since the blinkers on my 1973 Cougar have worked properly. Most everyone I talked to about it, didn't want to have anything to do with it. Within the few minutes it took to install your product, I can finally drive my car again without having to worry about a thing. Thanks again!!!!

Incredibly easy to install, less than 10 minutes start to finish. Only tool needed was a small flat head screw driver. R/H taillight never worked quite properly. This unit solved the issue.
Sequential operation is far superior to the stock unit. Fit perfectly into the stock black case.
    Highly recommend,

Rear blinkers operation intermittently. Replaced with updated parts and no impact. Eventually determined problem was the switch in the steering column.

Product received was exactly as advertised and it perfectly restored the function of the sequential turn signals. Circuit board was slightly larger that the enclosure that it needed to be installed into, but that was not an issue.
