NEW DESIGN... The consistency of rubber on these strips is soft and supple now.

The doors do not have to be "slammed"

Of the three reproductions versions out, there these are the best.

Installed in Sept 2018. Yes, they are stiffer than stock but they will soften up in use. Some "authority" needed to shut door but slamming not required. Replacing the door weather-strip at the same time will require more force to close the door so don't falsely attribute that to the A-pillar seal. In general, if you have a convertible, you are just going to have to get used to a few compromises and many dozens of hours of adjustment. The water/air sealing from the stock Ford equipment in 1969 wasn't exactly perfect. Made in USA and I would not hesitate to use again.

I was a little harsh with my first review, so I was compelled to write a follow up review....
When I first put these on my car about a week ago I couldn't the door without slamming and pushing hard on the door. I took the driver side post off and was going to make a relief cut, but instead decided to see if the passenger side (which I left on) would squish down and conform. It has been a week since I put these on my car and although they still are not a great fit the passenger door is much easier to close now. I decided to put the driver side post back on without making a relief to see it will eventually fit better too. Hopefully, I will be back in a few weeks to write a final review that they conformed and fit great.

I wish I would have watched your youtube about the crappy reproduction stuff you sell, and I would have never put this Schiltz on my car. They are way too thick. I know repro stuff can be bad....but C'mon man these things are a bad joke!

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...
