Product Condition Grades
Below is a general description of what the criteria is for our product condition grades. These are generalizations that are intended to give you an idea of the condition of the product at a quick glance. Because different parts degrade at different rates, there are variances in what the letters represent, please see the products description for details about the condition of any particular product.
A = Excellent / Above Average
B = Average / Some flaws / Good to Excellent Driver Quality
C = Obvious flaws / Poor to Average Driver Quality
D, E, F = Worse, Worser, Worsest
Reproduction 14x7" styled steel wheel with a chrome outer rim for your Mercury Cougar. No, Mercury never offered them in a 14x7"... We now sell more of these custom made SS wheels than the originals which were 14x6". Not only do they look better and allow you to run a wider tire, you no longer have to worry about scratching costly trim rings against a curb. This is a great improvement over the original as the wide chrome outer band gives a great contrast with the charcoal colored center. These cost hundreds of dollars less than the latest "fad" wheels and help keep that original look for your classic as well as enhance the value.
These wheels have a 4 1/4" backspacing.
NOTE! These wheels are intended to be balanced with a lugcentric adapter. They will not balance with a traditional cone spacer on the tire spin balancer. Many tire shops do not deal with classics and do not have the right attachment. If you attempt to balance these wheels without the correct adapter they will resemble a bent wheel.
The five window trim parts per wheel come un-installed for those who prefer a mirror like finish and want to spend extra time polishing them, caps and lugs sold separate.
