This icon means that we're looking to buy this part!

WCCC is a buyer of used and NOS hard to find 67-73 Mercury Cougar parts. Usually we give an in store credit of 50% of our web price for parts delivered in hand or by carrier to our Brooks, Oregon location. If you're not interested in store credit, just shoot us an email and we will let you know if it's is something we can pay cash for. We do not send cash for parts in advance but we often can compensate you within hours of receiving the goods.

Sometimes a 50% wholesale bid will not be enough to entice you to sell. It never hurts to ask if we can up our bid! If it is an in demand item that we have requests for we often can pay more. Just email us if you have questions or want to share pictures.

Single New Old Stock cylinder head. Casting number C8AE-6090-J. Very rare in any condition.

The W code Cougar 427 GTE used these heads on a side oiler rotating assembly with a hydraulic cam and Medium Riser aluminum intake - the so called "PI" C7AE version. 427 cylinder heads that have the J's have provision for 14 bolt exhaust manifolds. Low Riser 427 heads use 2.09" / 1.66" valves. Included is a set of machined used valves (16 total)

The C8AE-6090-J heads were also used on the prototype 50 Mustang fastbacks used at the 1968 Winter Nationals - the so - called "135 series" 428CJ cars. The C8AE-Js were replaced in early calendar 1968 by the more common C80E-6090-N heads on production 428CJs and later Cougar 427 GT-Es with the W code 427. The change appears to have been in January 1968, the earliest C80E-N heads are January 68 castings while the latest C8AE-J heads are December 1967 castings.

Dated                                 . The actual casting date is inside the valley, which when installed is under the valve cover. Bare heads as shown, with used valves.
