This used A/C fan switch mounts to the rear of the factory installed air conditioning ventilation control panel on your Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. Good working switch and wiring pigtail with plug. Save your knobs or consider purchasing the 1969-73 selector button kit.Ford part # D1ZZ-19986-A.

Unlike the 1968 Cougar headlight switch, the 1967 and 1971-73 version does not have the three vacuum ports connected to it. Don't be fooled . . . This FMX switch is correct for 1972 and 1973 but works fine on 1969, 1970 and 1971. The only difference is that the later models had one extra plug that will not be utilized when used on a 69 - 71. Quality reproduction for all 1969-73 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang with FMX automatic transmissions. This FMX switch is correct for 1972 and 1973 but works fine on 1969, 1970 and 1971. Hard to find New Old Recent Stock switch for the driver side power seat on the 71 - 73 Cougar or Mustang. Toggle switch looks accurate, however, you will need to reuse your original plugs. NOTE!!!! This offshore switch is assembled with plated steel rivet contacts as opposed to brass rivet contacts like original. Whereas the Torino or Mustang do fine with 2 incandescent rear bulbs the Cougars with 6 bulbs put too much load on the switch and they fail. The only way these switches will hold up in a Cougar is if you convert to LED. Our turn signal switches are made on the FoMoCo original tooling. If you have replaced your sequential unit in the trunk with one of our new solid state sequential units and are still having problems then the turn signal switch is most likely the culprit as the only other part to the system is the wiring harness itself.
