1968 289 & 302 2 Barrel Engines - Factory Single Exhaust Components

Band or ring style factory exhaust pipe clamp. For 2 inch outside diameter exhaust pipes. Comes with a course sheet metal type threaded hex head bolt. Ford part number C5DA-5A272-B. *Note all 1967 & 1968 Cougars had 2 inch tailpipes from the factory. Check the outside diameter of your current tailpipe for fitment. Part number C6AA-5A272-A is the factory style 2-1/4" tailpipe clamp.

This set consists of one tail pipe hanger and one muffler hanger, both were mounted on the passenger side of the car. The only cars eligible for single exhaust in 1968 were the C code 289 2V and the F code 302 2V, single exhaust never came on 1968 big block Cougars. In some instances 2 barrel cars had special ordered dual exhaust as an option from the factory. Probably the most common occurrence would be those few F code 302-2V engines installed in the ultra rare, ultra cool XR7-G. *Early...

This is the harder to find tail pipe hanger as it was only used on dual exhaust cars. Will have usable but cracked rubber. Mounts to the frame on the left side of the fuel tank. Supports and holds the rear of the tailpipe stationary. All 1968 - 1969 dual exhaust Cougars, all engines. Ford part number C8WY-5260-B.
