Hood - Repro ~ 1967 - 1968 Mercury Cougar

This latest of a series of 67 - 68 reproduction sheet metal parts is just what the market has been waiting for! The dimensions are EXACT down to the 1/16", black primer finish is very similar to what the later service replacement parts were from Ford. The hood weighs almost seven pounds more than original due to the material being made from a slightly thicker material than OEM. The hood hinges are mounted by welded in nuts instead of the J nuts like the originals. This is both good and bad in that it makes for a mounting struggle when using our premium hinges made of a thicker steel than OEM. The center crown of the hood is crisp except towards the tailing end where it tapers sooner than the original which washes out at about 1 1/2". This of course cannot be detected if you are mounting a hood scoop. Keep in mind there are no shipping fees or taxes when you pick this item up in person at our shop. These hoods are oversized and cannot ship through UPS or USPS, so it will need to ship via truck freight. You can expect to pay somewhere around $500 for shipping a hood to US addresses. International customers: you will need to ship these hoods to a shipping broker with a US address via truck freight and have the shipping broker transport these to your location. These hoods come in thin cardboard packaging only and must be crated. Crate fees apply.
